Crete Experience Wine Safari proposes excursions and Food and Wine Programes in Crete.

Our professional guide proposes to discover the cellars and wineries of Heraklion ( Protected Geographical Indication CRETE) and Peza ( Protected Destination of Origin), and taste the awarded wines.

HERAKLION PROVENCE

The Crete Experience Wine Safari in the HERAKLION provence permits you to visit the wine areas, situated on this map. It is called “PEZA ( P.D.O.)”, and it is located between the “ Psiloritis mount (2456m) and “Asterousia mountaints (1231m)”. The vineyards produces white, rosé and red wines. This region produces the 70% of the Crete Region

Discover the Cretan vineyards which hides a valuable treasure of native varieties (Vidiano, Vilana, Dafni, Plyto, Thrapsathiri, Muscat of Spina , Malvasia di Candia, Kotsifali, Mandilari, Liatiko) that will open up new taste horizons for every restless wine lover, who will discover and enjoy them.

With our professional guide you will visit three wineries (wine tasting of 5 different wines in each winery) as long as an old stone wine press!!

Once arrived at the winery you will be welcomed by the winemaker/wineowner. You will get information about the region, vineyards and viticulture (grape, soil, pruning…).

The wineryowner /winemaker will guide you to the wine cellar and show you how to taste the wine and how to serve it. As well as that you will get gastronomic advise.

Our Crete experience Wine Safari permits you to walk into the vineyards, feel the grapes, smell the soil and visit the museum of the Cretan native varieties. You can also experience the international varieties of wine grapes (like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah).
